Hello,
I plan to hire St Joseph's Roofing to install a new roof. It will probably take place about four weeks from now and take one day to install.
I plan to have architectural style shingles and the color to be moire black.
The Reston Association website indicates:
"If your project meets the following criteria, NO APPLICATION is required. Your RA Advisor has been contacted to: • verify that the proposed change is in accordance with all aspects of the DRB-approved color palette; AND request the change be entered into the DRB’s records for your property."
Does anyone know who our RA Advisor is for our cluster? Is it the same as our covenants advisor (i.e., Matt) listed on the cluster website?
Thanks, David

David,
Last year I decided to get a new roof and learned that our cluster standards had not been updated to allow for architectural shingles. Reston Association would not approve the new shingles for a single home and said that it had to be done as a new cluster standard. At the November 2019 Cluster Association meeting, we voted to add architectural shingles as an option when replacing your the roof. This was approved at this meeting and was submitted to the Reston Association in January. Kirsten and I checked with RA last week and the new Cluster Outreach Specialist, Meagan Micozzi, informed us that this standard was going to be reviewed in March, but is now on hold. I've had a roofer on standby, Artin Roofing, since September of last year and told him to move forward with replacing my roof with the shingles that were approved at our Cluster Association meeting.
Take a look at the minutes from that meeting to get details about approved manufacturers and colors.
Best, Rhonda
